1 Corinthians 4:2, "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful."
Someone has said that, "The cause of Christ is carried on the shoulders of the faithful." The greatest contribution a church member can make to their church and the cause of Christ is not necessarily with their abilities, but with their dependability (faithfulness)
The greatest need in our churches is not more money, better organization, bigger buildings, or more imaginative programs, but rather just good old-fashioned faithfulness.
Not everyone can play the piano, lead a Sunday School class, pastor a church, achieve a high level of education, accumulate wealth, or excel in sports, but we all have the ability to be faithful.
What is faithfulness? Faithfulness is being where I should be, when I should be there, doing what I should be doing the way I should be doing it. Faithfulness is doing right without exception. Again, faithfulness is aligning my priorities with God's priorities.
Faithfulness is a command of God.
Faithfulness is a characteristic of God. 1 Thessalonians 5:24, "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it." Hebrews 10:23, "...for he is faithful that promised;" 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just..."
Faithfulness is a condition for being used of God. Genesis 18:19, "For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment..." God is saying that because Abraham was faithful, He could trust him and use him. God uses faithful men! God cannot use an unfaithful man.
What will faithfulness do for us?
Faithfulness Brings the Blessings of God Upon My Life. We all want God to bless us. I want God to bless my family and my life. God blesses faithfulness. - God blesses faithful church attendance. Hebrews 10:25, "Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." A man told me one time that his work schedule was keeping him out of church. He said, "I must change this schedule, I'm drying up! Even my daily Bible reading is drying up!" By missing church, he was missing God's blessings. - God blesses faithful giving. This is a sensitive area for many people, but the fact remains that God blesses faithful and generous giving. Luke 6:38, "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." - God blesses faithful service. Those who significantly impact their community for the Lord and His Gospel are those who consistently love and serve the Lord over long periods. A few years—one, two, three, or even five—won't create a lasting effect, but a lifetime dedicated to service leaves a deep and enduring mark.
Faithfulness Brings God's Blessings Upon Others. - Faithfulness to God brings blessings to others in my home. No home can be it's best without faithfulness to God. Unfaithfulness to God sends a mixed message to our children and grandchildren. Unfaithfulness and dishonesty often go hand-in-hand. - Faithfulness to God brings blessings to the community in which I live. I do not believe that the downfall of American began with liberal political parties or politicians in government, or in the liberal takeover of our university, but rather with unfaithfulness in our churches and the lives of believers. Faithfulness to God , honesty and purity, clean speech, kindness, soul winning all bring blessings to my community, making it a happier, healthier, and holier place. - Faithfulness to God brings blessings to my church. The faithfulness of veteran church members sends a loud message to new believers, to our youth and even our older Christians. Throughout the years, there have been individuals who have greatly blessed and encouraged me personally, and without exception, they have been devoted, faithful Christians. They were consistently in their place, faithful, and positive, not seeking blessings for themselves, but aiming to be a blessing to others.
