At the beginning of my Christian life, I chose to set aside some time each day, specifically in the morning, for reading the Bible and praying. Soon after my conversion, I learned about five questions to reflect on during my daily Bible study. These straightforward questions have consistently helped me extract truths and practical applications for my life and faith whenever I read the Scriptures.
I would recommend that you write these down somewhere in your Bible and refer to them as you do your personal Bible reading time. Again, they are not original with me.
When reading these passages, Ask yourself, “is there...” ·
A sin I should avoid?
A promise I can claim?
A command to obey?
An example to follow?
A teaching about God, the Lord Jesus, the Holy Spirit, Satan, man?
I truly believe that by using these questions, you will discover valuable truths from any Scripture passage.
